Looking forward to the rescheduled game the Cowboys would take on rivals Marcus Marauders on Saturday, February 4th. After a tie to Plano East the Cowboys were looking for a win to give them momentum as they move on through district. After 5 minutes sophomore forward J Mcgill received a through ball which he took to the corner and crossed in for Sophomore forward Luis Mendez to scissor kick right above the goalkeeper leading to the first goal of the game. After another five minutes Sophomore forward Luis Mendez received a ball right outside the 6 yard box and blasted it past the goalkeeper. Another 5 minutes pass and senior Defender Preston Taylor receives a ball and takes it past the defenders to have a 1v1 against the goalkeeper and slips it to the right of the goalkeeper where he cannot stop it which gives us the 3rd goal of the game. At the 15-minute mark senior midfielder Gabe Klement got a cross into the box and shot it right above the goalkeeper making the score 4-0. To end the first half senior defender Matthew Saucedo took a shot inside the 18-yard box and scored making the score 5-0 ending the first half. Going into the second half the cowboys were looking to advance their lead and not get scored on. 5 minutes into the second half Forward Luis Mendez scored his third goal of the game off a 1v1 with the goalkeeper getting him a hattrick and scoring the 6th goal of the game. The win moves boys soccer up to 2nd place in district.
